Why on earth would a DJ platform offer Spotify streaming, when it's only permitted for personal use, and not for an audience ?
I'm confused 🤔

I have never understood that either, but in all reality who is policing it?

I think the answer to that is easier than you think.
I'm a DJ who buys the music I have. So, I can mix songs and have a test run using Spotify, make sure my setlist works and ensure that is actually the song I want in the set before buying it.
Why is that so hard to understand? I would never rely on a streaming service in a club--I need the hard files on my machine. But while I'm doing development... different story entirely. Is nuance lost on you mortals?

Where are you buying them from though, and in what format?
Often even sites that offer digital downloads for sale have the same "personal use" restrictions.
The act of purchase does not necessarily grant you the right to use it for pubic performance...

Not everyone who uses VDJ works in a club. And personally as an open format mobile DJ it is literally impossible to have a collection that covers everything. Even more so if people at the party are requesting foreign language music which happens now and again.
I maybe stream less than 5 tracks a month, but having the service available is a must these days.
If you want to stick to the rules then use an alternative service to Spotify, it's quite simple really.
