I just got a new 5 button Microsoft optical mouse, and was wondering if there was a way I could configure the extra buttons to control features on Atomix, rather than just using the keyboard?

I think the best way of doing this is with the software that came with the mouse...you should be able to allocate different keyboard functions to each button then configure these actions in the Atomix shortcuts menu...
Good luck
