Sujet DISTORTION

HOW COME WHEN I RECORD A MIX FOR MORE THAN 30 MINUTES IT STARTS GETTING DISTORTED. IS IT DUE TO FILE SIZE OR WHAT? IF YOUR DOING A PARTY MIX HOW DO I MAKE 6 HOURS OF MUSIC WITH NO PROBLEMS....PLEASE HELP, I HAVE A PARTY THIS WEEKEND...

what is you sound configuration? 2 sound cards or 1?
give a bit of your computer specifications.... processor, speed, ram etc...
Oh yeah, no one is deaf in the forums... you don't need to shout. (lol, turn off caps)

1 sound card, p4 2.0, 512 memory, win xp thats what i have. it should work. i have tried it on 2 different computers and the same thing happens. HELP!!!!!!!!

Check the gain level and also check the windows default level !

Good one Coco! Definately sounds like a gain problem...
If you are using the auto gain feature, keep an eye on it, and try to keep it somewhere near 0 (zero) like between +1.5, and -1.5.
Your songs may be distorting due to over or under gain.
When you play a long play list, especially of songs which haven't been played all the way through before, the auto gain will try to adjust the song level for you. If you first analyse the tracks the gain adjustment will tend to be a little less severe.

so far so good on that advice. i turned off auto gain.

Sweet, auto gain is a very useful feature. However it may make some over corrections on songs that have never been played all the way through before...
