I just started with Virtual dj, but still like to have good ole PCDJ Red available. I've noticed that vdj likes to keep control of the DMC1. Am I going to need to use a 2nd DMC for red?

Be very carefull what you do with red after installing vdj.
VDJ id's the tracks by bytes, red tags the file increasing the size renderning vdj's search useless after a scan and analyze. We all know what a suck pill it is to do that twice.
IMO, scrap red and start fresh with VDJ, it will only add to the confusion.
