Hello,

I want to make a purchase of these components, with the aim of using the softwear for video mixing:

1 NUO3 mixer from Eclerc
3 VirtualDJ XP10

My question is on how to connect these components togeather to achieve proper operation of the softwear,( Ive been searching for diagrams or instructions but have not been able to locate any ) and if there are any other parts I need to purchace besides the laptop. I also want to mix with 3 decks hence my listing 3 of the XP10. Does the softwear support 3 source mixing...or is there a specific skin that will...or will this be a feature that can be added ASAP from a programming perspective? If so what is that process for rolling that level of mixing out in softwear upgrades, and to achieve this control and interactivity using 3 decks or more for that matter, what type of hardwear configurations as far as the number of USB inputs etc will a laptop have to have in order to do this?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.....Ive been watin for a product with this level of control for video mixing.....been researching for a while.....not much out there that works this well.....good timing, and a great alternative to DVD based video mixing!

I would go with the Nuo4 mixer, if you are going to mix video!
The crossfader on the Nuo4 has midi possibilites, so it can move video crossfader (software) at the same time as you move your audio crossfader at mixer (hardware).

3 times Xp10? wow ;) you need 3 x USB ports, and a 3 deck skin (not made yet I think), or you can run 2 instances of Virtual DJ at the same time (would be 4 decks, but still...)

You can of course make a 3deck skin yourself, or maybe ask for it at skin forum. It would be cool to have 3 deck skins for sure

Your PC would need 3 usb ports, and your external mixer should have 3 channels at least.. .if you're going for this setup (one for each xp10 / virtual dj deck)

hope that helps a bit;)

You could have 8 decks or more if your hardware supports it, VDJ can do it can you handle it?... Some people makes this question of 3 deks and I can tell that with VDJ you have a lot of options, 3 deks isn't the answer for what you can do with VDJ, but if you want it you could have no 3 but 4 or 6 or more.

Good Luck!

Could you be more specific on how to setup more than 2 decks? Plus, I plan on buying VirtualDJ Pro but only when I know exactly how to make my setup and If VirtualDJ Pro will support all I want to do (which makes sense being that I would be investing a good hunk of change to do it).

My Plan is to setup something like Nick Goodman´s Blog on this site. That looks awesome!! but I am unsure how to do something like that. If the software only shows/supports 2 to 3 decks, how can u control:
2 Turntables (Timcoded Vinyl)
2 XP10´s or Dac3 Controllers/cd decks
1 Evolution X-Session mixer
and whatever else that is in Nick Goodman´s box of tricks in that picture????

Would I have to have 2 to 3 PC´s, each one running VirtualDj, and going through a mixer out to my speakers???

The software supports as many decks as you want... either by running more instances of Virtual DJ at the same time, or my multi instance skins. It would usually be a choice of 2 or 4 decks...

You can have them running on the same PC, or synced running over several PC's

Now, have not seen that particular blog, but I guess he uses all to control Virtual DJ in more than one way... depending on his preferences

- two turntables with timecode can controll Virtual DJ decks
- same can xp10's
- same can a DAC controller.

Depending on his mood, I guess...hehe... he can either use his DAC to control Virtual DJ kinda like a rackmount CDplayer, or his turntables with timecode if he want to scratch and so on..

So, you can connect more than one type of hardware to Virtual DJ on the same time, controlling 2, 4,6, 8 or what ever amount of decks you want :)
It all comes down to your PC or PC's... and what you want

hope that helps

DJ in norway and others thats for the helpful replys....

You have provided me with a good start.....I looked at the skin creation senerio....lol thats not my thing...lol. I hope that the copmany or a skin maker creates one...I have put in the requests.

To the others that have replyed, Im glad to know what I want to do is possible.....however....the system ive put togeather on paper is thus far going to cost just over 14 thousand dollars US, and with that kind of invstment I can illafford any problems....hence why Im askin so many questions....In the event I do go with this system purchase, it will be when im completely sure I have ALL the right parts to make it work right from the start.

While I appreciate the replys....more detail is needed besides "its possible" Do any of you have direct email contact with the tech people at the Virtual DJ company?, Ive tried to contact em via email...to get a more detailed reply to my questions...but havent recieved a reply as of yet.
