Hello-
I've been playing with the 3.4 demo version. I love the features of the program, but before I purchase, I would like to ask a few questions...
1. When I play VOB or MPEG-1 files in VDJ, the audio quality sounds like a 96kbps mp3 file. Nowhere near performance quality. I assume this is because it's the demo version? Is the sound quality better in the full version?
2. The video quality is "flashy" when there's a lot of movement, like when there's fast dancing. There's also "ghosting" when there's a lot of movement in the video. Again, is this because I am using the demo?
PC Specs (if interested)
P4 3.4
1GB Dual Channel
36 GB Raptor SATA HDD 10,000 RPM (Operating System & Applications)
3 x 250 GB 7,200 RPM (Music, Video & Karaoke)
256 MB NVidia Video
Maya 44 Sound
This is a performance-only computer. It's a rackmount unit that I have been performing with for a year using other software.
Thanks for any replies.
Tim

Im not a video specialist, but I just would give a reply, while some of the experts of VDJ probably are in Germany for the Musikmesse trade show.
Video on VDJ is relatively new. Sound quality will be improved in the new 4.0 version, which will be released soon (According to VDJ team members). Some discussion of the same subject: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/46240/General_Discussion/Still_can_t_get_DJ_quality_sound_from_VDJ.html
Note also that VDJ is created to play sound with 16 bit 44 kHZ sample rate. Lots of dvd's use 48 kHZ sampling rate. This will result in less audio quality. For testing purpose you could take one of your songs, see if it is 48kHZ. If so convert the file to 44 kHZ and see if the quality improves. Remember to keep a copy of the original file
