I can't reccomend you use a splitter for headphones and audio out. You will get only mono signal (not left & right).
If you really want to use it, search the net or go to the music store of hardware.
It's better to use 2 sound cards or 4.1 card which is not expensive.

And you need the full version of VDJ to preview a song, the demo version don't allow that

I think a cheap 5.1 sound card is a better solution than a splitter cable. This is ok for home use. You will need the full version for this solution.
