Hi everyone....I was asked to host and DJ "Latin" night at a local bar.......can someone PLEASE give me some playlist and sources to get some music for this party.........I have right now basic american/latin music:
Shakira, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee.....stuff like that, but need LOTS more
This is a one time only party, so Im not sure if I need to subscribe to a service like promo only, I read a forum that suggested that, plus I understand there are LOTS of latin genres, so I know I should be more specific, but the owner really does not have any idea either since this is his first party.

All styles, the best known songs. I don't have actually any song like this :)) I never mixed this style but i'd like to! Yesterday i had party and mixed only rock, can you immagine? To mix rock? :)))))) But it was great party! Till 7 am!

Hahaha you´re reading too fast xeon... I was talking about my MSN... I once posted it in this forum and a few non-licensed users added me and started asking for serial numbers, and some others wanted me to dowload effects for them. No way! xD
Well.. I´ll post a small playlist here then.
But first, I must say that LATIN is not itself a genre. It´s actually all the music "Latin" people make in spanish, so there are hundreds of different sub-genres, each with lots of artists.
To list a few typical genres:
CUMBIA (which has sub-groups as well)
MERENGUE
BACHATA
VALLENATO
TANGO
SAMBA (more portugese but still "latin")
And, well... you could say that REGGAETON is a form of latin music.
Also, some songs are popular in just one country, so some latin songs "Made in Chile" are never heard in Colombia, or any other "latin" country, and so forth.
Unfortunately I have a limited amount of “classics”; I DJ at young people’s parties, so I hardly need any salsa, or tango, for example.
I´m going to post the popular songs, top of the chart (mostly reggaeton) and a few that are old but still fill the dancefloor.
Let other people contribute to this list by posting what´s popular in their own latin country, and post the classics as well.
If we are able to make a big playlist then we could make this topic a sticky =P
