lol, i agree. i'd love version4 to come quick, but version 3.4 works fine so it's not like i neeeed version 4.

maybe it's your soundcard. i wouldn't use it live if i thought it was compromising the audio quality. have you tried disabling the timestretching feature?

i have a maya44 and Yet the sound is at least 30-40% better when i switch over to my dz1200s and i am useing mp3s of a lower bitrate on my dzs.
bagpuss dont tell me i am makeing false headlines i have been djing since you where a young boy. You need to get some new ears if you cant tell that the sound is no good from vdj! but then you have a beta of vdj4 which has the new sound engine that maybe numark helped develope so they could use it in vv or it would not have sold because of bad sound quality compaired to ssl or traktor.
And dont try to lecture me on sound quality!

VDJ 3.4 does NOT have 40% lower quality than CD decks! Get real ;) LOOOL
But true, it DOES have a bit "cut" of dynamics.. making it a bit "flat". But its not very noticable..
If you experience 40% difference, its something on your end.. :)
But VDJ4 have as said, a brand new pro soundengine, taking care of that.. And giving cristal crisp, funky punch and full dynamics in all ranges of the spectrum. Simply perfect sound.. trust me;)

I'm sure everyone wants to know when V$ is coming... me, i'd settle for a list of what will be new and improved. I am glad they they are taking time to get it right and not give us a dissapointing upgrade

We know it needs an upgrade...and reason its written all from scratch in VDJ4... brand new sound engine.. :)
But most users are fine with 3.4 sound.. So am I really..
I need a really good system to tell the difference..

There's lots of things that can cause bad sound.
Poor quality card
Poor drivers
Settings
Your sound card is the most important part of the system.
U46DJ is an excellent card, even with a full Windows shut down you have a live mic and input available for alt music source.
Never been so pleased with sound and features as with the 46.
You guys are going to be really pleased with the next version, it's down to details now.
Ran 6 hours Sat night perfectly.
There is only one person who can answer the question and no answer has been given yet, not even us.
Posting again and again is not going to speed it up any.

Yes I get to test the Betas, maybe there is a reason for that ;), I don't make silly and false statements (even you've reconsidered your silly estimate of sound quality loss in VDJ), my Testing feedback is constructive and some of it has been implemented in V4, as have the views and ideas of others.
And why do you have to get all ageist about it? being such an expert on Audio Quality you'd probably know that a "boy" of 20 would have better hearing than a "man" of 50 (for example), that is based on age and not taking other factors into consideration (such as self love or arrogance).
