@Niems. I'm all about scratching, I don't see how mixing without scratching is any fun. So I need a good platter. Been juggling lp's for about 4 years now.

what about the normal CDXs, they are good performers and you dont have to throw away your experience and familiarity with those 12" of black plastic

DJ Xeo, thats what I was talking bout :D

If you about scratching, CDX is all for it, or even the Gemini hybrid is excellent. They both have extremely good reviews on www.skratchworx.com.

The 3500 and DZ's are simple DD tables, and have about half the surface area.

Get CDX :D They even have a genuine piece of re-used wax on them. If you stick them on your old TT's you might even find a classic haha. If you a big spender and have thousands of songs, then the HDX is also worth a look. Using cd's for timecode means you never have to worry about cartridges and worn out vinyls. You can even smart cue with the cdx and loop, there was a thread around here somewhere on that...

Look on skratchworx for a demo scratch video

The ultimate device if you want to play some of your old records is the Numark X2

i think if your using TCCD only then the dz1200 might be fine but if cd's it has one of the worst scratch emulations i have heard. there used to be a video around compairing pioneer 800, denon 5000(?) , and the tech dz 1200, and by far the dz 1200 sounded like crap. here's a review http://www.skratchworx.com/reviews/sldz1200.php

If you are all about scratching AND are used to TTs, get Numark CDX......
Its awesome, the only REAL vinyl emulation, and has the TT platter you are used to

Go to a store and try them all out to see which one YOU like best as its down to your prefs and no one else then buy the one you want as they all have there pros and cons.

Long story short i love my Vinyl turntables ;-) f*** those Pioneer crap ,Denon etc.. nothing can be same as true Turntable, many people like those CD Turntables because can't offer to buy Vinyl or don't wanna carry big cases around, and have no respect for producers, go to the LimeWire etc. download illegal MP3 and burn to a DVD or keep in HD and play that s*** everywhere with no clue ;-) i been DJ since 1979 and i can't go anywhere without my Vinyl case, and i will never will use those CD turntables .Only reason i,m here now i was re searching Technics DZ rview bcz i wanna buy them for my Son and thise page came out ;-) anyway guys no hard feeling, stop using illegal MP3 with this shity CD Turntables

and with the denons you can use the hybrid midi- you wont even need timecode cds , the timecode signal just streams right out of the players and if yo get a denon x600 then you can use the mixer dvs function.. It spure midi control with the real feel of vinyl --DJ JAMM

Do you guys even look at the dates on some of the threads? This one is from 2006 lol Will be locked shortly no doubt.

Why lock a thread just because it's old? I always thought that's what it's all about after all a lot of us have been here for years.

Maybe you should ask the 'mods' why they lock the old threads not me! They do it all the time amigo. Threads a lot newer than this one are locked all the time for being 'too old'

I'm just the messenger so if your going to start shooting, you might want to re-adjust your sights!

I don't make this stuff up Charlie, I actually pay attention to what goes on around here lol

the quotes are from 'mods' NOT me:

'Two year old thread, locked'

'Do not bump a very old topic from 2007'

'Please don't bump a very old topic from 2009'

Maybe this topic is still relevant because there are a ton of SL-DZ 1200's out there! ;-D
