I get sick of my old laptop which is too slow and completely unusable with vdj 4.0.
I even have esi u46dj soundcard but it works only in WDM-mode (skipping otherwise).

That's why now i''m searching for a cheap laptop for VDJ to work with best performance and low latency ASIO mode. Maybe i'm going to use videos too.

I just came across with Zepto Znoter 6214W laptop. Zepto is a quite unknown danish computer brand. What do you think of its specs?:

Could it work smoothly with videos? This laptop has got relatively bad reviews
because of small screen, unconfortable keyboard and low battery life but that's not a problem for VDJ users?
It's MUCH cheaper than any other core duo laptops i found....

Could work but if video is sharing memory than maybe will not work that good, you have to try it with VDJ because when graphic card share memory it is slower.

Thanks for info ALF. Specs says the video memory is discrete so no problem with it? I already ordered it, so I will recieve whole package in 2 days. It will be exciting.... :)

Should work, I would like to see 7600Gt graphic on it (Go is mobile version for power saving) but you will get it anyway so we will see how it perform :) Specs are very good, good CPU and enough RAM memory for video use.

That machine is getting SO much credit throughout the web. I live in Denmark where it´s produced and it´s a real export succes story. Personally I would have thrown in the extra cash for a Core Duo 2, 2GHz CPU with 4MB cahce and opted for the cheapest 40 GB disk - they use Hitachi which are cheap and crap. I would then have taken out that 40 GB shitkicker disk and installed a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 S-ATA disk instead. They draw power like 4.200 RPM disks and perform very very close to 7.200 RPM disks while producing almost no heat or noise.

Besides from the Hitachi disk, you get a very fine machine for your money. Congrats!

Thanks guys for the comments!
Besides the cheap price (~1270 euros + VAT in my country) they give me better processor for free (2.0Ghz)! Woohoo! Can't wait for it! I have next gig on friday :)
