Hey gang...
I have the M-Audio Fast Track Pro on order and would like to eventually use the time coded cd's at the club. I have heard that I may not have the right card, after being told that it would be good for VDJ.
My lappy is suppose to have a firewire port so that shouldn't be an issue.
Did I mention that I don't want to spend more than $200?
My external HD is a USB 2.0 or a firewire, so what should I use with the firewire port, if I have a choice?
I have been hearing too many issues with the gigaport and the u46dj cards.
Just trying to sort through the confusion.
Also, once I get it

Fasttrack is a great card.... works great with vdj
It just dont have regular line-ins to connect your turntables too.
So you need a card like u46dj, or similar...
Firewire card can have benefits over usb cards on laptops, yes.. because of IRQ sharing issues.
But for most, u46dj will work great
