Does the option 'overclock' in the performance-settings has anything to do with the real meaning of overclocking (you know, gearing up your CPU, graphic card,...)
I know, it's a silly question, but someone's got to ask it.

No, its not a real overclock;) its just a performance boost setting that works on some laptops;)
