Sujet Numark D2 Director and Timecode Use

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi

The D2 Director has finally hit the shops in the UK. I was wondering. It doesn't have any midi output, so couldn't be used as a controller in that way.

But. Wouldn't it be possible to use theVDJ timecode file and play it in the d2 director to control VDJ? Might be using a sledgehammer to crack a peanut, but might be useful too.

its like a computer

it plays mp3s of external drives

it doesnt have a midi output

im not sure how it would react to a timecode singal sorry

although you can play the timecode on a normal mp3 for testing purposes so it might work

If it has separate outputs for each deck (I expect it does), it should work fine for timecode control if you load the timecode MP3 onto it. It should work the same as if you were using a timecode CD in a CD player.

However, you will not be able to control other functions of VDJ with it (FX, samples, etc.) You might be better off waiting for the DMC-2 (Similar to the D2, but is a proper controller for VDJ.)

It should work just fine for timecode use...the output signal will be just the same as a normal CD/Vinyl output...
But you said the D2 is in the stores allready??Are you sure??
