Wish me luck guys, I'm DJing for some Hollywood heavyweights this Saturday. It's going to be interesting! One of the person's that going to be there will be performing with his band. I'm trying to think the angle to take on this. Either keep it loungy, so that way when they go on they take the show or try to rock the house, but they might not be in that mood since they are out of LA and want something different. The club is going to be private party until midnight but after that we have our normal crowd. Any suggestions?

What did they hire you to do? Get a play list if you can so you don't play the same style ( songs ) as the band. I'm sure they hired you to entertain the group before and after. If its a dance party before the band then just stay away from the band style and bring it back to the dancing when they finish so people know why you were hired.

Well I dont know if that's there thing. f@% it, Robert Rodriguez (directed grind house, desperado) he's having the private party. They are expecting a few Hollywood peeps coming as well (i cant wait to see Rose Mcgowan, that's his girl she is beautiful!!!) Fred Durst is coming through, Charlie Sheen, quentin tarantino, just to name a few. Call me weird but this doesnt seem like the full blown dancing crowd, that's why I'm thinking of sticking to the lounging music

Good luck my Friend and hopefully it will be a good one.

So...don't leave us in hanging....how did it go???

Alright here we go.....First thing is first...PATRON was the sponsor for the event, free Patron Platinum shots all night, I got pretty messed up to say the least!!!GOOD TIMES! Everything went pretty well, The Rumblers performed before I went on (That's Robert Rodriquez band) they were pretty good, they played a lot music from the Road Racer soundtrack since it was the re-release party for it. Place was packed! As a matter of fact, when I was trying to walk into the club, they had to get the owner so he could verify I was the DJ. The crowd that was there was really yuppity, see and be seen crowd. So the band finishes off, and I didnt want to go straight to the new stuff, becuase people were in a high hearing this rock/rock-a-belly sound. I went straight to Guns and Roses sweet child of mine. Turned out to be the perfect way to start off the night, people were into it (and very intoxicated ha!). I went into Journey- Dont stop believing, then into I dont want to lose your love tonight. THE CROWD GOT OWNED! muhahahah!!! It was pretty dope got a lot of compliments going from the rock sound to top 40 and the mashups. I did not go into video just because I still havent had a chance to test out DJ Cell MK2 mapper. I WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD THAT IN MY ARSENAL!!!! We had the after hours party for the Hollywood peeps. All went really well.
