so ok..

who went to the BPM show??

me and a freind went on Saturday afternoon, we drove for 2 hours to get there.

strange that it should have to on a weekend when most DJs are working on a friday and saturday, but it was worth loosing sleep for.

there was all sorts of exibits. even promoonly uk were there.

pcjd were there showing off some rather expensive expensive touch screen laptops, running their software.
they were selling boxed versiond of pcVJ (theyr version of our VirtualDJ)

there were some blokes stood behing me in the que for the cafe saying "the pcdj version still wont be as good as virtual DJ"

i dont know what the difference is, but im sure its mentioned elsewhere on the forum.

but if anybody else went to BPM, then post here.
put any pictures..

i took a video of a laser projecting a running horse, but i dont know how to upload them here.

then there was a company with a flashing dancefloor. powered by ultra bright LEDs. they were giving away vodka orarange :p

So did you go to the seminar by Mixmash with the section by me on ripping DVD and video use in VirtualDJ?

hi tophouse,

no i didnt stay long enough for the seminars. i got back home just enough time to rest for a short time before going to work (DJing)

but as i have a lot of music video from promoonly and one or two others, im fairly happy with how my videos have turned out..

although some of the recent promoonlys need some de-interlacing... lol

did you see the laptop that pcdj were demonstrating??
it only needed about 23 windows processes to run the pc!! shame i didnt think to write them down, so that i could squeeze more juice out of my PC..

There was a guy on the PCDJ stand who was really easy to upset. A number of us from mobiledjforums.com set him up. He was a tallish short haired guy.

My turn was :-

Me:- Just looking at your new VJ, it's a copy of virtual isn't it?

Him:- Yes, but we've got a few things virtual doesn't, we have a clip bank.

Me:- Really! Virtual have had that for MONTHS!

Him:- <strange look>

Me:- And the DAC3, when are you going to update it and match it to your skin, like the DMC2 is?

Him:- It already is, what's not intuitive about it?

Me:- The buttons are all over the place, the DMC2 is logically planned out, and where's the DAC3 crossover? Also have you cured the problems people are having with the buttons failing on the DAC3?

Man goes into ignore mode.

Ooo dear! :(

that guy at the PCDJ stand was stumped within the first hour (before we got on the free vodka orange (near the multicoloured dancefloor!)!!)

we asked him what the difference between PCDJ-VJ and VirtualDJ was, but he just looked back at us with a blank expression!!

PCDJVJ to me looks like it costs more maybe becuse they give you a box and cd and maybe a printed manual. how many times would you need to read the manual? once or twice maybe?? maybe for reference?? anyway..

nice touch screen laptop though!! but not nice price at over £2000

anyway, i left with a bag ful of glossy brochures, there was some book or catalogue that had a cd in the back, i found plenty of lanyards allover the place.. my girlfreind said she also found a laser next to the lanyard she found, but i told her to leave that!! it wouldnt fit in the bag!! lol

Next time Tell Your Lovely Girlfriend to bring a larger purse ;-P

Yep, the guy on the PCDJ stand didn't know his product, also, if you gave him any negative feedback he just tried to be a smart ass! He deserved the flack he got. I met up with around 20 of my collegues from mobiledjforums.com and several of the lads commented on the same guy.
