Just trying to narrow down my mixer selection......Are both MIDI??? Pro's Con's? Your choice?

these two mixers are completely different and aimed at two different market...the TTM is a hardcore scratch mixer with very good faders while the DJM800 is a dedicated club mixer. you also got
2 versus 4 channels to decide about.
both are MIDI however and I would say that the Rane has the edge on build quality while the Pioneer has more features and built in effects...

rane has some funkey locking to sterato as well which means u need to run that before u can use it in another app

Does anyone here on this forum know if the Rane TTM 57SL can be unlocked to be used with VDJ. I know it has the built-in soundcard that is used with the Serato Scratch Live. This is a very expensive mixer that is bundled with Serato Scratch Live package as well. I would love to try to have it unlocked for full use with VDJ using all the buttons to be configured to be used with VDJ. Rane has always made great quality mixers.

hey al! i have the 57, i've tried to run it with vdj, but they need to release better asio drivers to get it to work as a sound card first. midi does not work to control another program either.
the 57 as is, is not a good mixer for vdj. it would be equivalent to the ttm56. the 57 is awesome with serato.
i say go djm800, if that cost too much, next best is the ecler nuo4,

pioneer mixers are seen in alot of clubs but they quality is not great. the break down easil and the sound quality isnt terribly good either.
rane mixers are solid, i have a ttm 56. rane uses magnetic linear sliders so you cannot break them at all.
i you are looking at midi, the ecler mixers are also very nice, but i cant comment on their build. my personal favorite is the allen & heath. great build, fantastic sound quality. if you can choose between a DJM 800, go for the A&H.
Ecler also has the EVO5 which just came out a few weeks ago. try to demo that alongside an A&H Xone:3D and see what sounds better. I'm also getting ready to make a purchase between the two.
