No Virtual Dj has not been bought by Numark.

Nope.

Numark simply re-brands Atomix's VirtualDJ as their "Cue" software.

Much in the same way that other digital dj/turntablist solutions often have a hardware and software partnership between companies: Stanton hardware + NI Traktor software = Final Scratch (not anymore), Rane hardware + Serato ScatchLive software = Rane Serato ScratchLive (SSL).

Of course the best by far, especially in terms of handling video using turntables, is Atomix VirtualDJ software (and Atomix TimeCode Vinyl) + Numark hardware = Virtual Vinyl.

Yeah, that's about to change here in the U.S. too. ;)

People need to remember that whether they're using VirtualDJ itself or Numark's re-branded Cue, it's still Virtual DJ. Then there's the different versions of VirtualDJ, like the one that came with your MK2, and VDJ Pro, etc. Also Numark's Virtual Vinyl comes with Cue but will often not be counted as a VirtualDJ or Cue product because people will just hear Virtual Vinyl.

This voting poll is a good example of how people forget that VDJ is in several different products as opposed to SSL which is only 1, with a lot less users worldwide: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/79626/General_Discussion/Cast_Your_Votes___.html?highlight=vote

There's already a lot more VirtualDJ users here in the U.S. than people think. It's just that now we're going to start getting a lot more high profile users (espescially turntablists) and that will thrust VirtualDJ into the professional scene here in the U.S.

I've never seen or played with that controller/mixer, but I use B-52 Matrix speakers as well and love 'em.

They sound SOO much better than any tri-pod mounted speakers, especially in terms of bass.
