Sujet: Suggestions about video mixing???

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I'm getting ready to start working at a new club that wants to invest in video mixing and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions about it or knew where I could go to find some details about it.

From the clubs side, they should get a matrix switcher that will put any input to any output. If they want to get their own computer, a 4space rack mount, with removable drive trays. Decide how they want to control, TCV or controller, or both. A great video card, and a great audio interface (I like one with 3 outputs, so my samples are controllable). A 19 to 22 inch monitor, with a minimum of 5ms response time. Multiply by two, for backup. Or the DJ can have backup. A subscription to a video service.

Thanxs for the advice...The owner told me he wanted to get 2 of the pioneer cdjs that do video and wanted to run PCDJVJ...I'm not really sure about what computer and stuff he's getting cause he's still building the club...

Do you mean the Pioneer DVD players? Did you tell him where PCVJ came from?

Yea the pioneer DVD players...and yea I sure did, but everyone down in Louisiana is so stuck on PCDJ it's unreal. Like I just started working at one the clubs downhere on Monday nights and when I was talking with the man I told him I'd only play if he let me use virtual dj. So rite now I'm the only person in Lafayette, LA to use it at any of the clubs but once I have another meeting with the boss I'm gonna suggest he get virtual I think it's just such a better program even if they both have the same format. I love how to can d/l all your samples and effects online and more skins and the forums and stuff are so much easier to reach and get help with. But this guys a young guy and I'm not sure if he's really fit for what he's getting into but I guess time will tell...

If I were to purchase today I would go with VDJ over PCVJ

If you have the Pioneer DVD players you have no need for a computer program. These are the DVJ-1000's: http://www.pioneerprodj.com/gear_dvj1000.html. They play DVD's. Virtual DJ and PCVJ play video files. You don't need both. If you or the bar already own CD or Record decks (turntables) then there is no need to spend $5,000 on the DVJ's. You simply use the Timecoded CD or Record to respond to the program which will control the video. You own a copy of VDJ so you should know this but I figured better fill you in just in case. (don't want you making an uniformed decision)

yea I understand that. I'm not the one paying for the stuff and I think he wants both formats in there just in case he brings someone in there and they only no cdj or only no vdj or somethin....And we mite do like video effects with regular music he still undecided about what he wants to do...I thank everyone for their input...
