Sujet: Multiple Clip Bank Question

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I read in djinnorway's post when 5.0 came out, that you can have multiple clip banks in VDJ by making multiple copies of the clipbanl.dll file and then renaming them clipbank-1.dll, clipbank-2.dll, etc. I did that and loaded up the clip bank with clips, but I don't see any way to open up the next clipbank I created so I can load it and the following clipbanks up with clips. How do you access them?

When you go to effect>video effects, do you see more than one clipbank listed? If not, you did not put the new ones in the right folder. Copy the .dll to the desktop, rename it, and put it back in the same folder.

I deleted all the clipbank files in mydocuments/virtualdj/plugins/videoeffects as stated in one of the threads. I then installed clipbank ver. 1.2 and coppied it and pasted the copies in the same folder. I have three files now: clipbank-1.dll, clipbank-2.dll and clipbank-3.dll. Only one shows up in the video effects page though.

Oops, Never mind my last post. I just realized I renamed the .bmp files, not the .dll files. Did the .dll files and now see the 3 clip banks I created. Thanks again guys.
The only problem now is that when I did this, I went in and filled the first clip bank with clips. When I went to the second clipbank, the picture previews from the first clip bank still were showing in the selector windows of the second clip bank. They were non-functioning and as soon as I clicked on one, the explorer window with all my clips came up and I loaded up the second clip band with clips.I set them all to loop and sync with music.
When I go back to the first clip bank, the preview clips oif the second bank are still showing. However, if I click on a bank to select it and hit actiivate, the correct clip from bank one shows up in the output video windows.
It seems that whatever clip bank you fill last will keep the images of that clip bank in the effects page no matter how many cliup banks you have. Anyone know of a work around for this??

My "hack" might not work anymore, as the clipbank plugin have been updated ;)

Not sure if you can run multiple clipbank dlls as you could do originally

It works. I can activate each clip bank and activate the individual clips. The problem is that the same clips show up in the three different clip banks. That is to say, the pictures of what clips are in each bank. The actual clips that I put into each box are there when I hit activate, but I have no way of seeing what clips are in each box until I hit activate.
To clarify: I load clips into bank 1. Everything is fine. I then deactivate bank 1 and go to bank 2 and before I even enter any clips in the box's, the previrew pictures from bank 1 are already in each box. Now the boxes themselves are actually empty and you still need to load a clip and when you do, that box's preview picture now shows the clip you loaded. All the other box's still show the clips from bank #1 until you load them with clips. If you activate any of the other box's in bank 2 before you load them, nothing happens because they are blank; even though they show the picture of the clip entered from bank #1. I load all the box's with clips in bank #2 and they all work. I go back to Bank # 1 now, and the preview pictures in all the box's are the pictures of the clips I just loaded into bank # 2. If you activate any of the box's in bank#1 though, they play the clips I originally loaded. It's just I can't see what's actually in those box's until I play them.

Me too !!!

It looks like 3 identical clipbanks but you only see the difference when you play them.

More clipbanks is very usefull.

So, if there's a solution, that would be great.

I agree with this.
I have the same problem !!

I would be great if somebody has a solution for this problem.

PROPER DIFFERENT CLIPBANKS WOULD BE GREAT !!!

Virtual DJ would have then a lot more (video) functionality !!!!!

If you agree with this, do give support to this thread and add your support message
so that the developers perhaps will start working on this problem !

I agree, why not have a simple scrollbar, like windows. So you could just scroll up and down as required. The more clips you have the bar adjusts itself accordingly!

Or as you say banks, perhaps better for arranging clips.

Some news about the multiple clipbank ???

I personally still use the old style clipbank and rename them to (whatever.dll). I have like 6 different catagories ie. Bar.dll etc this way I only need to activate according to what I am doing. I do see what you are saying about havin more than 12 but this is a simple work around to give you a little more control.

It works with the old dll file.

The new one is very different, and copy-rename the dll itself, wont work

Glad u told me that, wont be switchin anytime soon, love ya Rune ohh i rhymed. lol

no worries, both are available as downloads from the video plugin section ;)

So one can download the old, if one likes

I am having this exact problem (above).

I create multiple clipbanks, but they all have the same thumbnail previews. So I don't know what's in the clip until I play it live.

Has anybody figured out a work around for this?

I still use the old clipbank and have 6 of them running. You copy the .dll not the .ini files.

YES - I realize you copy the DLL. However, with the new clipbank, the display shows the identical thumbnails for all clipbanks as the last clipbank you entered. So you cannot see what the clip is until you make it live, as mentioned above.

Does the old clipbank afftect the overall performance? I heard it tends to drag down the program...??

Also, if I wanted to download and install the OLD clipbank, what's the best way of doing that?

Do I just install it right on top of my 5.6? Or do I need to uninstall the 5.6 clipbank somehow?

I'm no programmer, but if "clipbank.bmp" is the preview what happens if you make copies and rename it "clipbank-1.bpm" "clipbank-2.bpm", etc............to match the "clipbank-1.dll"............worth a try, if it doesn't work just delete the copies and rename back to the original

I did try that, and it ignores the new .bmp file. It just keeps creating new clipbank.bmp files for all *.dll clipbank files.

I did remove all new clipbank files and installed the old 1.1 version. That one seems to load up fine (I did 12 banks), and has that great "hovering" feature that plays clips within the thumbnail for preview. But the CPU meter is really running hot when I bounce between clips over a music video in the players.
