Do you need two of these for MIDI control use? Or can you use 1 to control both virtual decks one after the other?
I have the ESI U46 MKII soundcard, so only need something to control the decks well when I do a gig at a venue that doesn't have turntables / cd players.

When I go into Config under Remote Control, I see my Xp5 is recognised as an Xp10 since the green light icon is on if i tick Enable. If I tick the MIDI box Enable the light is red, and I can't find how to map the device controls.
I have downloaded some Xp5 XML files, but due to the above I don't know where to start to load these up.
I have set up my VDJ as having no timecodes, and the Xp5 and ESI U46MKII soundcard are plugged in via USB.
Can someone please help?
Thanks!

I have both the xp10 and xp5's. Main difference is the sound card. The xp5 soundcard is slightly less grade. Also I noticed that the xp5 is more geared towards a mac os setup. Had a bit of trouble running the xp5's on windows system.

I`m thinking about the same thing.I consider buying one device to control both the virtual decks.I think it might work,if you map the functions for the active virtual deck and then you`ll just swap the over like working on keyboard.

Hi,
yeasterday I got my xp5 and I managed to map scratch functions on the jogwheel.Only with one difference as oppose to normal cdj platter. And I can`t do it any better. Here is the thing. When I put my finger on the jog wheel, music stops playing. When I start messing about with platter it behaves like normal scratching disc.So far so good. But when I stop any movement with the platter(my finger still on the top of the jog wheel), music will carry on playing. It`s because I mapped hold function to the wheeltop "button",and scratching function is mapped to the combination of the wheeltop and wheel. As soon as I stop moving the jogwheel this combination stops sending any midi signal and music plays. It doesn`t send topwheel signal anymore,I have to lift my finger of the jogwheel and touch it again.I can`t do it any better.

The Scratch Prob is quite simple to solve. There's a additional software from eks for configuring some midi behaviours of the XP5s.
Register your XP5s on the Eks Homepage an download the software. After installing and playing a little bit around with the software i was able to configure the scratch function.
Just try it out. You`ll se it works fine :-)

Hey fellas, sorry to add another awkward question to this forum but at least its not about the MIDI mapping for scratch.
I was wondering if u guys knew a soulution i could use as a mixer for my set of XP5's.
At the moment i have them running into two USB ports at the front of my computer and I use them to control virtual dj.
My problem is that i miss having a mixer present for crossfading and adjusting treble, bass etc...
Are there any reasonably priced solutions for me to control virtual dj with a mixer and my two XP5's running into it.
