OK, I am about to lose my mind. I have a bunch of video DVDs that I ordered from Promo only, how the hell do I rip them into my computer. We all know Virtual DJ ripper sucks, I tried smart ripper and could not get it to work right. I tried magic ripper and that gave me video, but no audio. I tried AVS tools and I can't get that to seperate the videos, and it takes forever for 1 DVD. Any suggestions would be great, or some detailed how to with a certain program. I am using windows XP. Thanks....

Use Smartripper, it works fine for the 5,000 .vobs that I have ripped. Do a search for a link. It's free, also.

You do know you can only rip a chapter at a time? What I mean is it's not like a cd, where you can name all the tracks, and then rip the whole DVD.
Movie
Key-Check=Don't decrypt
File-Splitting=Maxfilesize (so you can ripp two or more chapters together, like the 3 song mixes), otherwise every chapter
Options= Unlock drive,DeMacrovision, Fast error skip
VOB file access=auto

OK, I can finally get the VOB's off of the DVDs with no problem, but what about a program to convert my current VOB's to AVI or others. I need one that you can load multiple VOB's and then just let it sit. I dont want to have to do 1 at a time. Thanks for the help so far.

Can you do that? I dont want vobs due tp their size. I dvd that was 7.some gig in now 1.some gig as an avi file. This is one of the few extensions I found to work in Virtual DJ untill rev 6 came out, now my mp4s work.

Hi, I use DVD Shrink to rip a DVD.
It is possible to select/split the clips etx and is very fast.
Then I convert them into divx - gives me a small file size, fast loading in VDJ, and very acceptable quality
