Hi Everyone,
I'm having a look at the trial version of VDJ as I have been asked to 'help out' at a local village hall and do the occasional disco and general music. My background is electronics and computing but that goes no way whatsoever into making me have any talent as a DJ, which is clearly a skill and artform in itself that takes time to master and I am on a steep learning curve! I have had a play with Winamp-based setups but am thinking that with a bit of software investment to make the whole thing slicker the hall might be able to charge for my services!
Anyway, I think the software is great but (here it comes...), there's a few things that puzzle me:
Most of the stuff I will put together with be auto-playlist-based, but there are times when I'd like to manually setup both decks, get one going and then 'punch a button' to autostart the other deck and automatically crossfade to it. Other software has this function so have I just not found it in VDJ yet!?
Also in comparing this software with others, and agreeing with other posts I have seen here, what's the deal with autoplay only using one deck rather than alternating between the two? This just seems odd (tell the newbie to shutup if you must!).
Finally, why don't *all* the skins have a master volume control?
Be gentle on a rookie!
Thanks
L3K

from what i unsersand that the dual deck automix was having problems so they changed it to a single deck, in a situation where you are going to want to use both decks, when auto mix is on and track playing and ready to swich track load track on nonactive deck turn off automix and hit play and crossfade. (this all can be done with a mouse and keyboard, and you can set up keyboard short cuts to make it all work for ya and when your ready just load a track to the deck that is the automix deck and start automix again
