Sujet: Freezing without even playing

You have helped before on this situation and I thought i had made things better. After loading virtual dj , and loading my first two songs... I can let it set there and without even playing, without two songs necessarily loaded into players... my cpu usage (Virtual DJ only) runs from 7 percent to 50% , then it will spiike to 90+% and lock up.

I then have to scramble and use my back up cd player , and allow myself a chance to reboot computer and then restart VDJ. It then seems to run fine (although) I have had to do this as many as three times. I don't see what is causing this. I really enjoy the program as do others I have recommended.

any further thoughts.

PS how can i go back and find my previous threads/ questions?

Michael what are your browser settings, I believe it is lookin for tags and cover art, set tose accordingly. I use for the database Add Manually, I disable the search for cover art.
 
that is a good thought but I'm currently using version 4.3... It was cruch time, I started to get the upgrade but was a bit scared due to the forum... keeping my cues and playlist. Would your question apply to version 4.3 as well? thanks michael
 
No my question was based on 5.0 and above. I believe there is something else going on in the background that could be doing this, if not I appologize. Check for wifi and stuff like that or even anti virus.
 
what is your power settings? is your lappie sleeping at all, is screensaver off, battery settings, shutting down harddrives after 2 mins or something?

open the task manager and sort by cpu usage, see what process is eating up your cpu
 
Thanks for all the suggestions.
I disable wifi , and anti virus before booting VDJ.
Power settings are Never sleep, never hibernate etc.
I have removed the global database and the search for new updates.
I disabled browswer settings for "always search for new pages" etc.
also removed temp files , cookies... not that any of this will help ... but once it was searching for updates.

Your suggestion about sorting as to cpu usage is helpful .

PS, in next version ... give us an option for small , medium , Large font.
