tHAT Would SUCK for people in that country.

I'm not sure i agree with that statement. It will basically lift the copyright infringement of copying cd's to your machine for one. Ok, you're only supposed to do it for personal use, but that's what your PPL licence covers, isn't it?

I can't see how it would suck? It would certainly clear up some concerns i personally have about playing copied cd's from my machine. If you are 'caught' using computerised gear as far as i know, your stuff can be confiscated and you basically have to prove that you own the originals before you get it back. Having said that, however, it seems you would still have to prove that you have the original discs, but it wouldn't be so frowned upon.

Don't get me wrong, I personally buy all my cd's as originals and pay for all my downloads from legitimate sites, but confiscation is more hassle than it's worth.

I thought it said they are going to make illegal to rip a cd to your computer.

I live in the UK and yes it needs to be changed, or at least relaxed.

Everybody knows copying cd's goes on.

Hehehe...(",) I thought I'd missed something there!!!

Jimmy b - I'm also in the uk, and agree. Regulations need to be updated to (if anything) make it clearer.

PPL license and Digital license suppose to cover such issues for the mobile dj. The PPL are aware of the needs of the mobile DJ etc.. and therefore this has been part of the consultation process. Whether its a favourable out come is yet to be seen.
