The first step is admitiing i have a problem.

I frequent these forums much more often than is required, i read through numerous posts even though many have little bearing on me or my life.

I keep checking back at ridicously short intervals incase someone has posted something new & exciting.

Please, if you are a sufferer too, admit your addiction openly, there is strength in numbers.

Yeah same here! the funny thing is that for the first 6 years after going digital I had never visited a software forum or a forum af any discription.

It is good to speak to other DJ's that use the same software and hardwear other than your circle of fellow DJs and friends.

Im Virtually Addicted , not sure what id do with out my daily fix this forum is so useful for so many things.

You can meet some really cool folks here.

well first things first my friends, there are many of us sufferers throughout the world who suffer from this addiction, i have even had papers published in the british medical journal "The Lancet" outlining symptoms of this highly infectious condition known through academia as "vdjalitius"

it starts to manifest itself quite rapidly in the subject more often than not after commiting themselves to purchasing vdj software and from there the downward spiral of self denial of the outside world consumes most subjects, taking away or restricting access to the software only increases the needs of the subject even more for "a fix"

Professor Seigmund and myself are currently writing another paper on this entire subject and would like to have your views on how vdjalitius has affected you or your family

some symptoms to look out for include

1. withdrawing from family life

2. lack of verbal communication

3. missing meal times

4. blisters on finger tips (could be a couple of reasons there)

5. waiting for an imaginary spinning icon to appear while at the supermarket checkout

6. locking themselves away in a dark room

7. taking a longer than normal bathroom break while watching tv

8. writing hand clasped as in clutching a mouse

please feel free to add to this list we are compiling...

if you or a member of your family are showing signs of this condition please seek medical help immediately

Tayla

and as you can see one of the worst case scenarios of vdjalitius in the total immersion of the subject into the world of vdj by surrounding themselves of vdj products and anything linked to it

hehe, +1 on the support group

@Tayla,

I suffer from all those symptoms,

does that mean I'm a VDJ-aholic too, Cool and i'm proud of it.

Jimmy b

I'm afraid I'm another victim of this virtual bug. I find it relaxing after work.

@ jimmy i can vouch for you being a holic of all descriptions

another side effect of vdjalitius is the compulsion of been connected to "the link" as well, both being heavily addictive to the sufferer... hehe

@ bagbus that is caused by the natural body release of chemicals into the brain after seeing vdj logo or you may want to get a weaker form of herbal cigarette

Tayla

sorry spelling mistake "bagpuss" another symptom...

Tayla

Another symptom:

When you see a different Pro Member - you have to check out their profile as if its going to make know that person better or even worse... Maybe they have some secret that you can learn from.

lol... I must say I'm bit of a freak on the forums. Although I don't post a whole lot I always find some time in my day to visit and check out what is new.

The daily dosage of swearing and cynical comments from AMAHM is always refreshing.
The daily guides from Skyfxl is always helpful.
The daily comments from Bagpuss trying to convince everyone the Hercules controller is a pro dj device.
The gay comments of Digimixer standing on the streets is hilarious.
And the daily winking from DJ norway is quite disturbing.

I still don't understand why I visit the forums lol :)

we're like the x-men,each with their own unique power. Except ours aren't gonna save anyone.
