Hi All,
I'm running VDJ 5 with a Numark DMC2. I like the default skin enough, but I like the Numark Cue version better, and I've seen others that are very nice. There's even a DJ/Artist on this forum working on a beautiful DMC2 skin, and I'd like to try that out. The trouble is, I have a DJ friend who gave me several alternate VDJ skins and effects but I can't get VDJ to recognize and load any of them.
The skins are .ZIP files and when opened, they appear to have all the correct elements similar to the default skins located in C:/Programs/Virtual DJ/Skins. I copy/pasted the alternates into the same folder as the defaults, but VDJ doesn't load them. Same thing with the alternate effects...the files look completely similar to the default DLL effects, but VDJ doesn't see them.
Am I missing something? Do I need to list the new alternates in a registry somewhere that VDJ reads when starting up? I don't see any available commands to update the skins and effects libraries automatically. There's a button to check for updates and plug-ins via the Virtual DJ website, but it doesn't give a clue how to load any of them once you've downloaded the ones you want.
Someone please let me know...I'd really like to personalize my VDJ. I might even like to try my hand at designing my own skin if I knew how to load it. Thanks for any and all help...

Not all skins are available to home users. Are you sure these skins are not pro user only skins?
