Sujet: Rackmount cd player + DMC2?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hey guys I'm going to start buying equipment for VDJ in the coming months and I wanted to ask somethign to any of you who have a DMC2. Is it possible for the DMC2 to connect to a rack-mount cd player? I need a backup for VDJ and I dont want to carry a CDJ around with me I'd much more prefer a rack mount set up so that's why I'm asking.

Look at the Denon products.

I don't think it's possible to connect a DMC-2 to a CD player. My alternative to that was to buy the odyssey case that has 13 spaces on top, 4 on the bottom and a laptop tray that slides over the top in which i have a DMC-2, 4 space mixer, denon 2600, furman power conditioner and 2 wireless mic's on a rack tray. I know the case is kind of big but compared the rackmount it replaced it's fairly light and it gives me a back up at all times. I run this as my main set up and when doing videos i set up another odyssey case that has 8 spaces on top with a sliding tray, no spaces on the bottom. i use this with a separate laptop and mixer on which my assistant can run slideshows and photo montages through as well as take request and run as a back up for my videos.
Hope this helps, Good luck with your set up
Alex.

The Denon HC4500 + the BU4500 (rackmount dual cd/mp3 player) is the only choice in the world to perform MIDI & CD from the same 19” head unit at the same time by a flip of a switch for possible 4 player control.

There are tons of advantages over the DMC2 in no specific order

-Built-in high quality 24-bit sound card (chip set is Burr Brown)
-Touch Sensitive Jogs
-Vibrant Tube Display
-Rock solid construction and made in Japan
-Connects to 3 of our dual CD players, BU4500, DND4500, DND4000
-Software upgradeable
-Internal Power Supply (no wall adaptors)
-Universal MIDI (DMC2 is only HID, requires custom software support)
-Fully Compatible with VDJ !

…all this for about $100 more than the DMC and you would need a sound card for another $100, so you are at the same price as a HC4500.

For quality, reliability, features and value, the Denon is your better choice.

Hmm, I'll look into the Dennon but I still like the dmc2 since its designed for vdj...

But so is the HC4500...
Why give up all those extras for the DMC which will never control a dual deck as one of your requirements?
Of course all up to you,all the best.
