Sujet: Stuttering Problem in VDJ with Denon HD-2500

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hey guys,

I'm using a Denon HD-2500 with VDJ 5.0.7. With a lot more frequency than I would like, a lot of the tracks stutter.

I've narrowed it down to being sound and table vibrations interfering with the touch sensitive jogwheel. "Putting my headphones back on the table" type of vibrations.

PreQuestion question - I heard that if I remove the jog wheel code from the midi map, that the problem will be fixed.

Question - If I do that, 1) How will I be able to cue up songs? I don't really care for doing it manually with a mouse.

Does anyone else have this unit and have a fix they'd like to share?

Thanks!

Bump :)

hi there,

do you get the same problem when playing files from an external hard drive directly, or only when you're using it as a virtual dj controller?

I'm sure someone will help you soon. In the future please post this type of issue in the hardware forum.

To answer your question, the unit does not skip when using just the external hard drive or internal hard drive. the skip occurs only when using VDJ

Does anyone have any input on this issue? It may not even be due to vibration. It's happened a few times where there was no possible way for anything to have been vibrated (quiet music, stable table, etc). Is anyone else experiencing it? PS., I am sorry for not posting in the hardware forum.

Can you be more descriptive in how you are using the HD-2500 with VirtualDJ ? You mention MIDI but I don't see from it's own documentation that it is capable of MIDI output.

If you are using the HardDrive for supplying tracks to VirtualDJ, then I would have to say Denon's own documentation recommends not to use any other PC application with their device other than their Music Manager. -- "When connecting the DN-HD2500 to a computer, do not use any software other than DENON DJ Music Manager. The data on the HDD may be destroyed and the DNHD2500 may be damaged if any software other than DENON DJ Music Manager is used."

And that their own documentation does not speak highly of the hard drive technology being used - "If there is a large number of files stored in folders on the device, searching may take some time and operation may be unstable. Keep the number of files per folder to under 1000." This sounds like a slow access driver say 5400 RPM drive.

Hi, thanks for responding. I'm using the 2500 as a Midi controller for VDJ w/ an external 7200 RPM hard drive. The original documention probably doesn't mention midi control because the unit was granted this functionality through a firmware update.

The there are probably still flaws in that implementation. Have you seen or heard anything through the Denon forums where other's have had problems with other applications ?
