Sujet: running a dual boot

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

looking into running a dual boot system one for the everyday stuff net surfing vdj forum browsing and the such and one for the vdj only. in running such a set up (from what my limited understanding) all the net cookie crap and all the other crap that goes along with it will stay on that side and leave the vdj ony side unafected. Is this true and the ideal way to run (limited to only one system for house and djing)
running xp sp2 with all updates

Or can just a second acount do the same thing (remember my pc Knowlage is limited at best) or jsut limit my dayd to day usage.

Thanks Rockinrossco

Yes you are better off running a dual boot of XP, or even XP on one drive and Vista on another drive.

well at the moment i only have xp but if your running a dual boot do you have to bye two sepperat os's as in 2xp serial numbers or will the one do, do to the fact that its on the same machine?

No you can use the same install and code from your first install.

sweet, thanks i think ill just have to go and do that

I just use a user account and tweaked hardware profile. Thus far, it's been pretty good to me. Not that I'm saying you shouldn't use dual-boot, I just don't...Yet ;)
