I'm surprised there is no section on message boards for this. Its key to my DJ show to present my videos in the right screen..........and not look like an IBM presentation. does anyone use rear projection De Lite plastic screens ?

dave , the last install that i did was a projector that cost about 180 000.00 . the empire ballroom in edmonton is using led.... Im using a epson sp3 series.. was about 300 on ebay and works in hi- def.. It has more to do with the cables you use to run the projector and what quality of videos your using ... I also have set up 5 different versions of screens .. It is important that you use a screen when projecting from the front to make sure it has silver screen qualities in it.. its a contained fiber glass... makes the screen brighter and less presentation looking.....

last min thought you can converge two projectors and line them up to increase the color and quality .. use the convergency lines.. i had to do this in calgary at flames central when the imax projector went down....

I use the dalite rear projection screen and I love it. No problems and it takes about 5-10 minutes to set it up by myself.

tell me more about combining 2 projectors, i think I like that idea........

I'm using the new NEC Wt http://www.necdisplay.com/Products/Series/?series=1a4d6b08-55ee-4d29-94f4-191d7bd88486 its incredible, 100" image from 3 feet away. its also 3 feet below the image so the angles are high for rear projection. I'm testing the da-lite wide angle lense for rear proj screen, will get a sample next week.

tell me more about LED, is the price low enough for high end DJ ?

Im using a Dell MP2400 (3000 lumens, 2100:1 contrast ratio, less than 1000us dlls) with a short throw lens and a DaLite rear screen. Here is the pic with and without the lens. Notice that theres a lot of light in the room.

i dont see the short throw lens capability on dells web site - do you have details ?

I paid for the:
* projector, same price as published in Dell´s page ($999, 2 years warranty, a nice case)
* Short throw lens, (499 dlls) ouch!!!, but if you are mobile, you must know that every inch of space are very valuable in your instalations.

Both (projector an lens) bought directly from Dell.

* The Screen, its a Da-Lite Fast-Fold 63x84" TEX HighContrast - and I paid 662 dlls for it from B&H Photo & Video store.

I was very pleased with the results, but I just read something that you may be find very interesting for a MSRP of $1192.00,
check that you will not need a lens adapter:

I still put the Sharp projector in the same place on my mobile rig, but it doens't make it almost topple over with the weight. lol

I use an OPTOMA EP739 2500 Lumens, The thing works great. I also have Da-Lite Front and Rear projection screen. If anyones looking for Da-Lite screens contact me. I am authorized re-seller here in the states and will give deals to Virtual DJ members. The fast fold system is great if your mobile.
