Can any1 tell me the purpose of the cues/hot cues...i've read my manual over and over and it still doesn't make any sense to me...can u also help me w/ how and when to use these???

i dont use them, but if theyre anything like a cdj-1000l a cue is typically the starting point where you begin the track from and a hot cue is something you can program on the fly during the track. they allow you to bounce forward or backward in a track and play a segment over. picture a sitcom producer in the screenroom: 'camera 1, jump to camera 4, camera 1, camera 3....' etc

The cue and hot start is the same. Using virtual dj, the hot start of a cd player is called Cue using the software. Just like you tap the hot start in a cd player to bring back the song to the starting point, the hot start of virtual dj is called cue. Hot start of a cd player = cue in virtual dj
