Sujet: Updates For Virtual DJ ?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi Music People:o)

I bought the virtual DJ together with the very first Hercules mixer, like 2 years ago.

Atm im runnin Virtual DJ ver. 3.4.1 with it, i have tried to update in here, it says no further update available.

Although in noticed some new skin from a screenshot of version 5 somethin i believe.

Now my first question is:

How far update can i go with me old version of Virtual DJ, am i surposed to be able to update to the versions that runs today ?

Second Question Would be:

Is there any other ways of gettin another skin to me version of Virtual DJ, coz things like efects ( like flanger ) i have to change screen atm to get to it, and the other screenshot ive seen, the flanger effect is available riht nexto the play, cue and so on, buttons ?

Hope someone could answer those few ones, thx alot,

Best Greetings

Michael from Denmark

Because you own the MK2, you can upgrade to the pro version at a discount. Click here.

The pro version registration entitles you to many downloads from this site, including samples, effects, plugins, etc., and it's much more powerful and flexible than the limited DJC Edition version you now have. Click here for a comparison.

Thx for the tip, ive noticed it allready, and yes might be doin that.

Actually im waiting up on the new Hercules RMX mixer to come out for sale, and together with that i might go pro.

Till then, now that ive still have bought hercules and virtual DJ, ive got the above questions in me first thread, anybody got any answers for me on those please ?

3.4 actually works better with the mkII than newer versions. Mainly because the "1,2, and 3" buttons function diferently on loops and fx.

As far as skins go I believe some are available to home edition users-

I use the TASCAM CD-302 skin. I've used the mkII with that skin for so long I almost prefeer it to newer versions. Mainly only when using mkII though. I still like to use it to record sets, or minimixes. But going pro is also worth it. Lot's more configuring and options available.

3.4.1 is as high as you can go with DJC Edition software.

As a DCJ Edition user, I think you are only allowed to download skins and samples posted by Lady Cameron. The effects buttons on the skins (like the screenshots you referred to), to my knowledge, are only available in the newer versions of pro.

Waiting on the RMX might be a good plan, it comes with a "newer" version of the software, but it's still not a pro version.
~Hope this helps ;)

Hi Discjockey & Rusmokingtoo,

Thx alot for your feedback, its been very usefull !!! ;)

I have now got 3-4 skins from dl site for version 3.4.1, and will try them out to see if theyre cool & nice ;o)

Btw 2 other questions then, if ya dont mind:

1: Ive noticed some sayin u can do your own skin, now do i need a certain tool for that ?

2: Anybody knows how much the Hercules RMX mixer is gonna cost, wot level of mony just about are we talkin ?

michael

don't know what the conversion rate in krona is, in the UK its going to be around the £235 mark and in the USA will be £175, once again we get ripped off in the UK, i believe it will be a little cheaper in mainland europe compared to the UK price

There used to be a skin SDK in the downloads section, but I'm not sure if it's available to DJC Edition users or not. Fish around and see ;)

You can preorder the RMX here for $349.99US. They say the MSRP is $539 (undoubtedly inflated to make it sound like a deal). They are estimating an April ship date.
