I am converting my CD to the Flac format. Please can someone tell me a step by step guide on how to install the flac codec onto my Laptop and use it with Virtual DJ i would really appreciate this.

I don't use Flac but this is good package of codecs: K-Lite Codec Pack

hi thanks for the response. I knew about K-lite codecs as i have used them before if I install this package on my laptop with the flac files run in Virtual DJ if so which in the list of Codecs do i use for flac.

the flac has been discussed on the board in a few topics already, I also
posted a way of manually adding the flac codec to VDj in this topic. Hope
that does the trick.

thanks for that i have managed to get it working but the songs sound crappy not what i expected some more help in setting up virtual DJ to play Flac would be most helpful

Could you elaborate crappy? It worked fine in my case, maybe because
I used the ogg codecs from their webiste.

ok this is what i did i installed the latest version of K-Lite codec pack i then went into Virtual DJ selected Config then to codecs then chose add on the drop down window i chose General Windows MediaPlayer audio decoder and flac as the extension. I then was able to insert the flac songs and play but they sounded distorted. There must be a reason for this but i cannot see it.

but was it distorted only when played with Virtual DJ? What about other media players,
does the same flac file sound distorted there too?
If yes, it's a codec issue, if no, it's a VDJ issue with this codec or the chosen decoder.

ok the simplest thing is to encode to 320 kbps as i know mp3's are fine in Virtual DJ
