Hey guys, so as times gone on I’ve gradually upgraded my system.
Started off with the Mp3 Control and the home edition that comes with.
Then I started Djing live at mate’s parties etc so needed a cheap 5.1 sound card so I could preview tracks.
I picked up a creative Live! 24-bit soundblast for about £20 and its served me well.
I've now got a new laptop and running vista but the soundcard keeps cutting out and crashing, only way I can remedy this is by restarting which when your in the middle of a set in a bar is incredibly frustrating. I’ve spoken to the guys at creative and they've been no good at all at finding what’s at fault
So I’m debating whether to get a new soundcard something like the DJ/IO or to get a new control with a built in soundcard.
Since I’ve been using the MP3 control for a few years, I’m drawn to getting a MK2 as there pretty much the same piece of kit, Just wondering if anyone has any other recommendations I’m on a budget of about £150 - £200
Thanks

you checked out the rmx yet round about that price range, quite a few of us seem to be hanging back before purchase though, waiting for any bugs to be ironed out and of course that expected price drop after the initial rush for it...

Their is a Vista update for Realtek audio driver.
The RMX looks better than the MK2 but I'm not convinced by it yet

I use windows XP to DJ because it is recomended. Windows vista is not a recomended operating system for that type of use. You can use it but, it will not be optimized like XP and it will not give you better Latecity than XP. XP is very stable and gives very few problems. When i had vista, I held the platter of my cdj 1000mk3 to see if the wave form moves aliittle. The wave forms move after you hold the platter. Its like using a compass, when you move to one direction and you stop. The compass numbers will move a little untill it stops. When i use XP to scratch and then hold the platter, the wave form stops right away.

Maybe this was just YOUR experience with Vista. I can tell you there are many users on this board that are using Vista and it SMOKES Xp in regards to video and audio. Every post I see you are bashing Vista. I WILL tell you that a lot of users who had issues with Graphics found switching to Vista SOLVED the issues and are now spinnin Vidz great.

The reason why i say this is because even the proffessionals are recomending it. I dj only audio and alot of post are audio problems. Vista could be better for video but audio is XP. Im not saying vista sucks, im just saying that XP is recomended for dj ying audio. I read this from people that design dj software and they say that they recomend XP for more stability and latecity.
