Sujet: Virtual DJ: Sound Card Configuration

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

but I posted ths on DJchatcom I'm still looking for an answer can anyone help me?

I am using the Echo Indigo DJ card in the old PCMCIA slot. I don't want to preview the song in the left deck or the right deck. I simply want to toggle back and forth from left deck to right using the AutoMix with BeatMatch.

I have it setup where I hit ctrl + the space bar and it does an auto crossfade, play, sync, and selects it. I simply want to preview the songs in the browser without it bleeding through the mains. Not sure why they just don't add an additional channel besides Left, Right.

Even on the Asio setting it says left deck 3/4 right deck 1/2 or vice versa. When I hit preview in browser it plays through the mains. Or I muted some channels and I can have the song I'm previewing go through the headphones without bleeding through the mains, but the song I'm playing therough the main is mixing in my headphones.

I know 3/4 should be the out, why didn't Virtual DJ just have a drop down box for browser preview. I would just select the onboard card and my problem would be solved.

I know I posted this before but from reading I know there are other Indigo users that have no probs. If you can just simply suggest a different card that would be awesome too!

I don't timecode external devices I just have the a mixer and laptop. How do you preview your songs in Virtual DJ. Sorry I'm a Virtual DJ Newb.

You need to set it to dual sound card mode for preview. Designated you headphone as your onboard sound output then it will work fine.

It is set for 2 sound cards so I'm assuming thats what you mean by "dual". The solution is really not that simple. Here is my configuartion:

Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer
Sound Card(s): 2 Cards
Sound Card: 3-4 Virtual Out
Second Card: Context AMC

Output Channels: Left Deck: First card Right Deck: Second Card

This does not fix the problem because I wan't the left deck and right seck to play out from the Echo channels. By having the 2nd card alloted for the onboard card (Context AMC, it will also make the Right deck play out of onboard card that will gothrough my headphones.

I wan't to toggle between Left deck and right deck and only have the preview assigned for the onboard card.

Unsolved Mystery? I'm assuming I can use my headphones in my mixer but maybe i need an extra cable? I know there are a bunch of people w/ the Echo how is your configuration. I don't want to preview in the left or right deck I want the decks to be assigned for the main outputs. All I want is the preview in the browser not to play through the mains.

Any love?

On the question, how did you setup your sound card?
If you want to preview via Indigo select in Config>Sound Setup>Outputs> put it on Headphones (First channel will be main output and second will go on the Headphones when you select deck 1 or 2)
If you want to use External Mixer select in Config>Sound Setup>Outputs> put it on External Mixer (First channel will be left deck and second will be right deck, you can switch that below in the same section, you will preview on the External mixer like using ordinary CD players).
Hope this helps.
