when i look up cue its only the software, and virtual vinyl come with: USB box that can be plugged between your turntables/CD players and your mixer, in order to use Timecode solutions.

I read a thread on here that says virtual vinyl comes with 5.0 pro edition.
Do you know if the cue come with a usb box,

No CUE does not come with the USB interface. That is what the difference between VV and CUE is. Once you purchase either VV or CUE you are eligible for updates so you will be running v5r7 when ever you download them.

To confirm , Numark Cue is VDJ distributed by Numark Industries.

Cue is our premier DJ software and is sold on cd it does not come with any hardware.

Virtual Vinyl package is a 4/4 usb soundcard with control vinyls and cds and Numark Cue.

V5 will read the id3 tags to try to find information to go config > browser and enabling all of the info gathering options.

Which version did you download ? 4.3 or 5.07? , check out the manual section on importing old data into the new system.

http://www.virtualdj.com/support/index.html

If you have many preset cue points , you may want install the full 4.3 as your using console edition then copy your database files from C : program files / Virtual DJ /

Virtual DJ database .xml
Virtual DJ database (your name ) .xml
Mp3 database.txt

to Program files/ Numark Cue

Then do an upgrade install of 5.07 it will import all of your cue points and other info.

The Mk2 software is a much older version of Virtual DJ so this procedure is needed to migrate.

You wont be able to use the mk2 as a soundcard if you use the VV box you would need to use a mixer to preview , the mk2 will function as a control surface.

I'm totally a big idiot... If I only have read this thread before then I should have bought VV instead of TC. I should have been a PRO user not a HOME alone...in which I had just register recently.

total control is a controller wich comes with a home edition of cue and costs about 240 euros.
VV is a full package (software,hi quallity soundcard, timecodes vinyls and cds) no controller included and costs about 500 euros.
Dont feel ungry with your self they are 2 totally diferent products.
ps: for me total control is the best controller out there !!!

Thanks for the input man...appreciate it...
Anyways i just blame myself for not having bought what really is right for my present system.
The fact is i already have 2 x TT (which is good for time code vinyl), 2 x ICDX (in which i used mainly on cd before and an excellent controller also for cue/vdj), and a fair quality mixer and soundcard. What i really missed is the PRO user under my name and a chance to broadcast in VDJR.
Well, just cross my finger what comes next. Overall, Home version still rocks for me, at the moment.

What do you mean when you say virtual vinyl? This thread is about Numark software which was called Virtual Vinyl. Is that what you have, or do you just mean DVS (timecode)?

If you're trying to use timecode then you will need to buy the appropriate license. You cannot use timecode with just a Plus (controller) license.

Numark Virtual Vinyl cannot be used in VirtualDJ 8. Your only chance is to register your Virtual Vinyl software and download/use Version 7.
