Hey guys,

I am considering purchasing Virtual DJ but had questions about connecting the laptop to the mixer. The Denon mixer I have now is about 5 years old and needed to know if it was compatible or can be made to be compatible? Is there a list of supported mixers? What kind of an input does the mixer need to connect the laptop with Virtual DJ to it? What kind of cable will I need?

thanks for you help with this!

You'll need a sound card that suffices your needs. As long as you have a sound card any mixer will work. Spend a week on these forums looking through threads and 99% of your questions will be answered. There are a few mixer/sound card options out there but only a few so your mixer won't work. Most (external) sound cards are usb and there are some firewire ones.

use the search box on this forum will help you a lot for what your looking for ie:- mixers, sound cards etc... hope that helps

Great. I was told by a friend who mentioned Virtual DJ to me that I would need a mixer with a midi input and that my mixer was incompatible. Let me make sure I have this right. I can use the sound card built into the laptop and plug the rca cables right into my mixer? that would be great.

Thanks alot!
