Sujet: Database went bad...Any Suggestions?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I was in the middle of "adding files to the search DB" when I had a power outage and my external hard drive powered down. Once the power came back up and I restarted VDJ it froze on the startup screen at the "loading database" and just hangs there. Is there anything I can do to fix the database on that drive or am I going to have to spend hours re-analyzing the whole drive again?

MBP specs: 2.4ghz 17" MBP with 4gb of ram and all the latest mac updates (OS X 10.5.3)
VDJ version 5.0.7

Have u try to use the "check" "fix" in the browser tab in the VDJ config? Maybe that will help the database.

Unfortunately the check clean and fix features need a update , you need to open up the database file you will see song tags <song>info</song> make sure these tags are closed or it wont work.

What program can I use to open and edit it? everything I try seems to freeze up while trying to read the XML file.

Try TXT Edit , if that doesn't want to play ball http://xmacl.com/ try the free version of this cool tool.

OK tried a couple programs from the site above and all results were the same. I couldn't open the file. I couldn't even move it to the desktop. The only place it would move to is the trash can. Finder will lock if I try and move the XML file anywhere else. Now I'm stuck re-analyzing all my music...this sucks! Is there any good programs out there for mac that'll analyze songs and tag them the way Mixmeister does?

Mixed in key but it is not as good as MM.
