* DirectX compatible soundcard
* 512 MB RAM
* 20 MB free on the hard-drive
The recommended configuration is:
* PIV 3 GhZ computer
* 1024x768 SVGA video
* 4.1 DirectX compatible soundcard (with front and rear separate outputs)

The recommended configuration to mix video is:

If you wanted to use Denons aswell you would need
A copy of Virtual DJ, a 4 in and 4 out external soundcard like the Maya44, a set of Timecode CD's (which you can download from this site) and a external mixer.

bigspit.....just go for it!!!!! You gotta quite hauling all those cds around. This was my history of migrating to laptop,,,,,started out downloading every single solitary mp3 mixing program I could find on the web, most offer pretty functional demo versions that allow you to try out what "feels" right to you. If you have been djing from pro cd players and pro TT's then you may want to keep a little security blanket as you "migrate" to the laptop. ie: keep a cd player in your rack WITH the laptop, plugged in to a 4 channel mixer. I am a mobile dj now, former radio and clubs (back in the day) and used to be the guy that dared the crowd to try and stump the dj with a request that I did'nt have,,,, that meant lugging around cases of cds. Now I buzz in w/ my laptop w VDJ installed and my western digital usb 320 gig POCKET hard drive and I have faster access to the 30,000 + songs than ever before. The dj mixing capabilities are unmatched in VDJ with ANY OTHER program out there now. I reccommend the Denon 4500 usb controller to compliment your set-up. It has a fabulous sound card built in and with the JPBoggis mapper installed, makes VDJ work like a standard analog procd player....Try out the other demos, If you like maximum dj creativity, video, sampler, effects and bells & whistles, There is no other program available in US at least with this much built in. GO FOR IT,
