Hello everyone, I am experiencing a issue with recording. I am getting this "waiting to start" message when I press record in VDJ. I selected Line in. It records immedietly in master but when I use this, it records me cueing the other song and so forth, so, I cannot use that. I know I need to ue line in if using a external mixer. I never had this problem before, can someone help?

Thanks,
Syberman

Turn off automatic recording (under config... button in record tab), and it will start immediately ;)

Do you mean auto-start? The box is not checked. I still get the same message. Any solution to this?

Syberman

Yes, it is auto start. Hmmmmmmm...Strange. I'm not sure what your problem might be if this feature is not enabled. Perhaps if you enable it, start a short recording, then disable it, and try again, that might bring it around. I haven't had this problem, but, I also do not record from an external mixer.

I tried that and still it does not work. I am baffled.

Anyone have an idea on how to reslove this issue?

Syberman

I'm pretty much out of ideas...We can only hope, at this point, that someone has had a similar issue and found some workaraound for it, unfortunately. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help to you :(

I'm not sure abt this tho even tho i seem to recall to have this problems long long time ago. Hmm.. do ur harddisk which u record in nearly full? Are u trying to record in mp3 or wave?

No, the hard drive has 455gigs left on it and I am recording in mp3. I just tried to switch it to wav but it still gives the the same message.

Sybernan

Ok let start from this first.. record in master.. does it help?

Do not activate the auto start n i sure u do have ur lame encoder for ur mp3.

When u use line in do u have selected ur soundcard n are they properly connected?

When I record from master, I record the next song as I'm cueing or juggling hi's, mids or lows. It gets recorded. I have the pfl pressed on my mixer and the slider is all the way down. I do not hear the other song live (through my speakers). But it gets recorded. The auto start is not activated and I have the lame encoder for the mp3's.

In line in, I have two options, primary sound capture driver and audio device on USB. I tried both and I still get the same message. I tried line and mic, but I get the same message. Only master records immedietly. I hope this info helps.

Ok next try to record ur mp3 using the line in option, box unticked, to a different folder in ur hd.

This is odd, as i testing here n i do not have the error that u getting but i will try my best to assist u here.

The last time that i have this problem is that if i remembered correctly, it have to do with the hd. Do u by any chance have multiple hd on ur system?

No multiple hd's, just one. I will try another folder and let you know what happens.

Syberman

Nope, still doen't work. I am truley baffled.

Syberman

Can u briefly tell what is ur system specs (Lappy or desktop) n are u using internal HD? What is ur config?

I'm trying to replicate ur issue here. I don't want u to resort to reinstalled the software at worst;)

U using the mk2 as ur soundcard right? Have u updated ur drivers?

Also u could try to installed these recent lame encorder.

I be looking to it n will back to u tomorrow as i need to get some rest;)

Hopefully there be user that have this issue or know how to tackle it will give their info too.

Regards.
