it wasnt only one user that answered that way, two gents answered him like he was a idiot and another blew him off as irrelevant. if that was the community that came along with the product, yes, i would be put off. this is Atomix website and if they allow potential customers to be handled in such a manner it should reflect on the company.
this forum is not a representation of the world, it is a representation of Atomix.
Do you act like an ass to potential customers, even if they ask a stupid question? No, you realize they don't understand the industry, technology or whatever and you explain in a way they can understand.

We have to draw the line between fun with the guys and the business that is run from this very forum. Nothing is bought or sold from the forum but impressions are made. Treat a new uneducated user with respect, don't make him feel stupid because he is not fully aware of what goes on here and how it all shakes out.

if those guys worked for you would you want them to talk to potential customers in such a way? they don't get paid by Atomix but they use their resources here at the site so they should follow the guide lines and be nice to the newbies.

There are so many flaws in this post, that i don't have the time to answer them all, but I will get back to you.

Considering other forums I have seen, I think overall the members on this forum are very respectful.

nice attitude from a VIP member. I feel ashamed by the way some of the regulars here treat new cats. U guys act like real assholes sometimes. Like school kids pickin on the new guy. sad. tayla is the only person who answered the question in a civil tone. If you guys r so put out by the question then don't reply. You make VDJ look bad.

Seems you are reading too much into what i said...Absolutely no disrespect or tone in what i said...or meant. The fellow is having difficulties using virtual dj (ripping my hair out).. then he ask for the question how he gets skins without paying for them? Tell me....?? wouldn't it be made "SIMPLE" for him if he bought the software and had all the skins at his finger tips for free?

Simple.. used here is just to let him know... that his problems are solved easily. not much of a problem at all.. once he buys and registers the software.

It is amazing how the printed word can be totally misinterpreted.
Having problems obtaining skins... simply purchase the software.. and you are good to go..(how can dat be considered as a tone)

The fact that kadcriffe chose to double up my comment.. probably tainted what i said..hence the asshole title u seem to want to dump on me....TDBennett

Apologies if my post seemed a bit short .... I was replying on my mobile phone and a call came in so I just sent the post without completing it.

We should be polite to all forum posters .... full stop.

P.S. the default skin is not that great .... I only bought the program when someone showed me the Vmix skin that Matt made, it's so much better.

The skin section is just a mess anyway, it's a jumble of crap that is in no order. It should be sorted out in sections by version compatibility, screen resolution, features etc.

I found it very hard to find skins for my main PC (1280x1024) and my remote handheld (800x600)

It is not good for new users and really needs tidied up a bit!

Oh MY GOD...I don't think anybody here was trying to be an "asshole", someone always has the right to ask how to get something they should be paying for for free, but then a bit of good natured sarcasm in some responses should be expected.

Sometimes I think some people on this board take responses too seriously. Have we become that PC that like most mac users that a few shots across the bow can't be laughed off! If so I suggest you step away fromthe keyboard and GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!

(I assure you no mac users were hurt during the typing of this email and I know that most of you now days are not uptight, arrogant and snobbish like your predeccessors and I don't know which of you use mac and which don't....just saw the opportunity to use the play on words (or accronyns as it were with the double meanig of PC and had to get a mac shot it even if it was irrelevant to the thread)

This is why the world is so messed up now, people take simple advice and distort it to fit or relax their ego. This reminds of the that infamous game "chinese telephone". If you need access to specfic files for VDJ application, you have to become a Professional user and you cant earn this by number of posts or the amount of advice you post on the forum, like myself you just have to just BUY it.
My opinion is that the Virtual DJ website layout needs to be restructured so obvious questions can be mitigated by these new users.

my 0.02 cents
