Sujet: Some laptop help please.

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi guys. Long time no speak. Hope everyone is well in VDJ land.

This is actually not a VDJ related question, but i'm coming to you guys as i trust the information i'll get from here regarding my laptop problem, so, if anyone can offer and advice, i'll be grateful.

I have a Fujitsu Siemens laptop. I use it for my business. Anyway, i've noticed just recently that if the screen is tilted too far back, the screen goes black, you know, like the light goes out.

You can still - if you look REALLY closely - see what's on the screen, but it's as if someone has turned the light off.

It's only a couple of years old, and i can't help thinking that this isn't a good sign, but has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? When i bring it forward, it comes back on again, but...man, surely this isn't good???

Cheers...and keep spinnin'...(",)

Sounds like a short, or a loose connection. I would google search repair centers in your area and see if it is something that can be fixed

There is usually a ribbon cable that "plugs" into these displays. It might just be loose. The displays are difficult to get apart unless you have a "decoder" aka service manual, so you might want to try to find a service center as was suggested ;)

Had a somewhat similar issue before....

my screen flickered on closing and opening the lid.

I did some research found out it was the "LCD inverter"

Taking apart a laptop is strongly NOT recommended if you got no clue on what your doing so don't risk it.

Good luck bro,
