I'd go with one of the packages that have the cdj-400's. Especially if your planing on using vdj.

I'm not sure how many people we're happy after they had their 3500's for awhile.

If your looking for ultimate portability I'd skip the 19'' mixer. It's not that much different in size, but a smaller setup fits in some of tighter spots us dj's get stuck in.

You can also skip the package deal, get the cdj-400's and a mixer with midi capibility- for even more control over vdj!

Here is my advice Jeffery....buy a 10 inch mixer..it suits your style better....and do not purchase from 123DJ.com every time I tried they took my money..and took a month or two too ship the product or, I canceled the order after a month of waiting.....PSSL is a better, much more professional outfit..or AGIProDJ.com

Actually I was going to go into the store personally to purchase these items as they are located in Chicago... :) But what do you think of the items T?

I had the 400...my iCDX is a better unit, in my opinion, to control VDJ....the 400 videos look great..and give the impression you can scratch and trick with them..and you can, with CDs....not with VDJ....the jog and scratching sounds bad....to much of a distinct digital sound.....Truth be told if you want true vinyl emulation..buy the Audio8 sound card....and some time coded vinyls.....

BTW 123DJ is a small shop on Michigan...narrow place..unless your talking the warehouse in China Town....but defo grab a 10 inch mixer..it is more suited to your street style...

I would look at the DMX01usb, or the DXM Pro...both good mixers for the price..and if I recall you mix more as a hobby than a profession....also the 01 has USB inputs..but if you buy the CDJs they have their own built in sound card...which the iCDX do not have....so you would need a sound card for the iCDXs....

A few people, Rune included, use the CDJ800s with time codes and have great success... they use the Maya44 USB soundcard....its a decent card for the money..the Audio8 is a bit steep in price....

Yeah T this is the China Town store...so the CDJ 800's would require a Maya card huh?

The Maya, or the Auio8, any soundcard would work...but those are two of the more popular cards.....

Madd... What's up dude,

I'm partial to the CDJ 800's. I DO like the 400's but have heard that not all functions work with TCCD's. Don't know if thats true or not but my 800's do the job excellently. Scratching is lovely on them.

I like the Denon 3500's but have no experience with them to offer you.

I used to have the Denon 3000's and I LOVED em. They got stolen along with 4 turntables, 2 mixers, 32 cases of wax (yes...THIRTY TWO CASES), 3 C.D. cases 2 amp racks, one effects rack, all my lights and all my speakers.

VDJ SAVED MY DJ CAREER

I still have my Tascam x9 mixer and I still love it. I'll keep it and keep using it until I find a mixer that REALLY controls VDJ and won't force me to sell my house to afford it.

The Maya44 usb is a good, reliable, long lasting soundcard. I have had mine for about 4 years now and never had a problem or failure. My only gripe with the Maya is the output. IT'S LOW.

I understand the NI Audio 8 coundcard is really great. I have used the Serato soundcard and the output of it makes the Maya44 seem like a poodle where the seratosoundcard is a Pit Bull. AND THE NI AUDIO 8 IS SAID TO BE Waaaaaaaaaaaay better.

I also have been told that the M-Audio Connectiv is a good soundcard. Much better than the Maya44. a little pricey though.

All 3 "Packages" you listed are Very Good. You can't go wrong with any of them so it gets down to your personal style of playing. For me, I have everything in it's own case. Mixer in it's own case, each 800 in it's own case. Easier on the back cause the wheels on the coffins are a joke to me. rolling them on concrete or heaven forbid...Grass is a nightmare. And you DO have to lift the damn thing at some point.

I also agree with Terry, 123 DJ is on my I don't have faith in em list. PSSL or Musicians Friend are LOADS better but if you are going to the store, that may be all good. Check the two sights out though. You may find something you want or need for less with free shipping.

Good luck choosing and HAPPY HUNTING

Madd, i was curious why not just got with 1200's and a rane ttm56? That is like a scratch dj's #1 choice.

if you need a soundcard ttm57 should do but i never heard anyone with VDJ use it.
