Sujet: Quality Sound Card

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I want to replace my old Maya44 USB card with an internal (PCI) high quality sound card. I have a nice set of headphones and speakers, so I think it is time to upgrade my sound card. I am looking for analog 4in / 4out for VDJ, MIDI capable to work with VDJ and my mixer, and a 1/4" headphone jack would also be nice. Is there a sound card out there that does those three things?

The closest card I found so far is the M-Audio 2496 but I couldn't tell if it has 4in/4out, the pictures show only 2 RCAs. Would this card work for VDJ?

Thanks all.

I forgot... the card should support XP/Vista, 32-bit and 64-bit flavors.

Viper,

I have a 2496 I use for recording work and its a great sounding card but I would say its not ideal for VDJ. It has 2 ins and 2 outs or you can configure it for 4 outs OR 4 ins but not at the same time, although it does have a digital spdf in/out.

I have to say that I reckon an external card would be better for you, they tend to have more in the way of connections.

Hope this helps.

John
