I've been playing around with midi mapping the stanton dascratch to VDJ.
I mapped the scratch_wheel correctly and have it parametrised correctly so it is behavious is as expected.
Now only when I do a backspin I have no sound...
Any ideas why?
Thx.

Smart Scratch enabled?
Posté Sun 02 Nov 08 @ 1:15 am
As far that I can see not.
The smart_scratch command is not mapped in my MIDI settings.
So it's strange that I get that smart_scratch behaviour.
To my believe I shouldn't get a smart scratch behaviour if it is not mapped.
It doesn't seem logical that is related to the controller, because that one is just sending midi messages and nothing more.
The actual behaviour is defined and executed within VDJ, no matter what midi signal it is mapped to.
Any other clues?

Your MIDI settings are irrelevant - it could be enabled. You don't have to have it mapped, if it's enabled then not having it mapped simply means you can't toggle it. I don't know what the default is, or if you might have previously mapped/played with it.
Set up a keyboard shortcut to disable it, and see if it makes any difference?

Yes, that was it. Strange that it was on, don't recall changing anything, but yes, you know how that goes.
Thanks for helping out.

It is a skin option, if you go to scratch panel window and unclick the padlock.

Assign a button as ..
smart_scratch
This will toggle between on and off for the selected deck
