Sujet: What Song Rocks The Party Best - Page: 1

Cette partie de ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes

I actually saw this thread on the Z-Trip boards a few months ago and really enjoyed reading what everyone's "Ace In The Hole" song was. When the party is lame or you really want to pack the dance floor, what song do you turn to. I have to agree with most of the posts on that Z-Trip board, those Z-Trip clones sure do know their music, but I have my own tracks that I fall back on to get the party moving:

* Nelly - Hot In Herrrre
* Black Eyed Peas - Joints & Jams
* Snoop Dog - Ain't No Fun

Those are pretty much old standby's. My crowd is mostly a popular radio hip-hop kinda crowd so those work well but my next party, I am DEFINTELY working in the following:

* The Blackbyrds - Rock Creek Park
* The Dramatics - Whacha See Is Whacha Get
* Bush Babees - The Love Song (this is about the dopest song ever)
* Schooly D - Am I Black Enough For Ya (might be a little hard to work this in, may wait til they're drunk)

So now you know mine, what's yours?

depening on what time it is, and where I am at, mixing...

a few out of the top of my head (and there are several more)
And they change all the time, depening on whats "hot and not"

Rnb/hip hop floorfillas:
- Snoop Dog - Drop it like its hot
- Naughty by nature - hip hop hurray
- Arrested Development - Everyday people

Pop floorfillas
- Britney Spears - my perogative
- Maroon 5 - this love
- Destinys Child - loose my breath
- Christina Aguilera feat Missy - Car wash

House floorfillas:
- Shapeshifters - lolas theme
- Armand van helden - my my my
- Michael Gray - Weekend (club mix)

cheesy floorfillas:
Kiss - I was made for loving you
Bon jovi - Living on a prayer
Joan jet - i love rock n roll
etc

At commercial clubs I think the following are most appropiate:

Satisfying Storm - Brendan Ford (this is a mash-up between "Sandstorm" & "Satisfaction")

I created this mix and it's had results that better even known commercial hits!, certainly an effective secret weapon of mine.

and these known tracks:

Kelis - Trick me
Jamelia - Superstar (yes still!)
50 Cent - In Da Club (unfortuanately :)
Michael Gray - Weekend
Mouse T vs hot and juicy - Horny (great place to start a party mix)
The superman lovers - Starlight
The Ones - Flawless
The black eyed peas - Lets get it started
Now or Never (u.s house by an artist called tom something)
Jeniffer lopez - Waiting for tonight
Jeniffer lopez house or club remixes usually very good
Girls Aloud - Jump (for my love)

and a less commrecial track by Leftfield - Space Shanty.

Their are actually hundreds or even thousands of tracks out there that will fill a dancefloor after the first secound of play, these are just what I can think of,

Bagpuss,

I'll have to agree with "Kelis - Trick Me", I was at Forty Deuce in Hollywood last week and when they played it all the girls got amped. It was nice.

What ever you play “to get the party moving” should be aimed toward the women. They will usually hit an empty dance floor faster than men. As a matter of fact, they will drag the men out there even if the men don’t want to go or they will dance with each other (women with women).

OO

Vengaboys - We Like To Party :)

Guys, this is a great thread. I hope we can keep it going. These stats change weekly as new music comes out. I have looked at "The Charts" link, but it is too general. I would like to see something in categories.

In Da Club. probably the biggest song in recent memory.

i'm really surprised Dj-Norway mentioned Arrested Development - Everyday People. back in 2001 i was djing at this black older crowd joint (with pcdj) and i dropped that song and the whole joint went craaazy. those drums in the beginning are crazy...
those old folks came running to me to replay that song and were tipping me almost what the club was paying me for the night.

"Everyday people" sure is a floorfilling classic that rocks the party ;)

Very usefull thread...

Some of my favorites:

Delight - Groove is in the heart
Buckheads - The Bomb
Chocolate puma - i wanna be u...
Faithless - Insomnia
Will Smith - Getting jiggy with it

i'll add my classix:

trance:
delerium - silence (any mix.. there allll gooood)
brainbug - nightmare (again.. jus about any mix)
paul van dyk - for an angel (or the "lover" version if theres women around)

house:
afrika baambatta - get up to dance
kelis - trick me (knee deep remix)
scissor sisters - comfortably numb / filthy gorgeous

these are the ones doing my rounds atm, I recently played the new Above & Beyond remix of silence at a gig, and the crowd went nuts.. everyone singing along *smiles*

For my house gigs...
The Talk 2-Harrison Crump
Music is the Answer-Danny Tangalia
La Discoteca-JJ Flores

For my Hip Hop gigs...
Yeah-Usher
Drop it like it's hot-Snoop Dogg
Culo-Lil John

For my Old School gigs...
Give Yourself to Me
House ain't giving up-Kevin Irving
Love can't turn around

There's so many, here are a few that work for me.

R & B/ HIP HOP
* RUPEE featuring DADDY YANKEE- TEMPTED TO TOUCH
* HUSH- LL COOL J
* INI KAMOZE- HERE COMES THE HOTSTEPPER
* KELIS- TRICK ME

HOUSE
* INFORMATION SOCIETY- WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND

OLD SCHOOL
* BRICK- SWEAT TILL YOU GET WET
* MARY JANE GIRLS- CANDY MAN
* KID CREOLE & THE COCONUTS- I'M A WONDERFUL THING
* GWEN GUTHRIE- IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU

LATIN SALSA
* EL GRAN COMBO- NO HAGO MAS NA

LATIN MERENGUE
* ORO SOLIDO- CHUPA TU PALETA

DJ MADDSOUND, the song CULO is by N.O.R.E. and not LIL JOHN.

culo is pitbull feat lil john

Sorry. You're right DJ RICK. I get the two mixed up. DADDY YANKEE, LIL JOHN, PITULL, and N.O.R.E. are doing so many re-mixes that it's hard to keep track of all of them. Specially DADDY YANKEE, he's done re-mixes with almost everyone. I think that if there's anyone in latin hip hop that's going to sell 10 million records, is going to be DADDY YANKEE. He's very hot here in the USA right now. Something that's helping him is that he's fluent in English and Spanish and can record in both languages.

Tracks that make my pulse shoot up:

Flaming June - BT
For An Angel - Paul Van Dyk
Insomnia - Faithless
Bellissima - DJ Quicksilver

Notice these were released some years ago, just to show that the quality of trance has in my opinion has gone down in the last few years.

Bellissima => 1997. It's really a good track. I like it very much.
It remember me my holidays in Spain.

Well at the Club OPM in Las Vegas last night, the song that set the crowd on fire was T.I. - Bring Em Out. But they also got hyped up when they put on Pitbull - Culo, followed of course by Nina Sky - Move Ya Body.

50 cent (in da club), danzel (pump it up), the underdog project (saturday night), praised cats (shined on me) sandy & benny benassi (ilussion)... have special attention on some songs that start pumpin right iin their begining, if you dont over do it, and know how to "brake" well, the crowd will go wild with the way you change without relying much on the cross-fader... Looping on certain parts of the song witout becoming is an art, but be careful cause overdoing it is REALLY annoying and will drive the crowd insane... lol.Try to put song that people know them by heart and have a cool rythm, they really get hyped. keep it real ppl!!
