I recently upgraded from the MKII to the RMX. The MKII worked flawlessly but with the RMX I occasionally get a popping noise almost like you hear from a record. I am running a Dell Inspiron 1525 dual core with 2gigs of ram so I don't think its a speed issue with the laptop.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Try adjusting the latency settings in your config menu.

Vertigo
I've had the RMX for 5 months now and was using the unit for a 7 hour set every Fri night at my Gig with absolutely no issues at all.
What I had done though was to install a clean version of Windows XP, turn off all updates, USB power control, all the tweaks basically that are well documented in the forums, and then vowed never, ever to change the config of that machine in any way. All has been sweet.
Then earlier this week I've been messing with trying to get a bit more functionality out of the software and using multi instance skins etc so I went and installed the latest BCD3000 driver so I could have the two controllers running, and guess what - I'm now getting occasional pops when playing back through the RMX. Even with the BCD disconnected.
My conclusion can only be this is a windows driver / resource / irq conflict type issue because I can absolutely guarantee that the installation of this BCD driver is the ONLY thing that has changed on this machine in the past 4 months, and I never had the issue until I done this.
I've seen a number of threads now where people have responded to similar posts of this problem with recommendations to adjust settings in VDJ, however whilst some of these may disguise the issue by requiring less machine resources etc, I don't think your VDJ settings are the cause of the issue, I think the drivers are. I'll be messing with mine this week to see if I can make the issue go away by removing / reinstalling drivers etc in particular sequences.
I let you know how I get on.

Hello DJDenzel,
Have you tested if unsinstalling BCD3000 driver solves your issue ?
(Windows start button> Settings > Control Panel > Add / Remove programs and remove the BCD 3000 driver).

Hello Vertigo,
What is your PC configuration?
Do you use the latest DJ Console Rmx driver?
On some PCs (generally on big PCs), the DJ Console Rmx drivers delivered on the installation CD were too CPU intensive, while the following drivers and the current version 2008_HDJS_3 package (http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=2&fid=28&pid=215&cid=1) have solved this issue.

Thanks everyone for the replys. I have not done a fresh install on XP. It is just the original install stripped down. I have adjusted the latency but had no success.
I did install the Hercules drivers that came with the controller. I'll give the other drivers a try.
Thanks

Hello DJDenzel,
Another solution for you would be to restore Windows XP operating system to its state before you installed BCD3000 driver:
1 - Log on to Windows as Administrator.
2 - Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
3 - On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.
4 - On the Select a Restore Point page, click in the calendar on the day when you have installed your BCD3000 (the day when you change your system are written in bold)
5 - Select the installation of the BCD3000 in the Restore Point list
6 - On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.
6 - Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page appears.
7 - Click OK.
The issue you meet is not the same as Vertigo, since
- your BCD3000 driver installation has probably replaced driver ressources used by DJ Console Rmx,
- while in Vertigo situtation, there is no conflict between DJ Console Mk2 and DJ Console Rmx drivers, since with last generation of Hercules drivers, there is a common installation for the driver of all DJ Console series hardware (I use my Mk2 and my Rmx on the same computer, with no conflict).

Vertigo,
if you haven't got this sorted yet, try this, which I did for the wiki a few weeks ago.

I have the same problem with vista x64, So I had to setup a dual boot on my system to run both XP x86 and Vista x64, with XP just for the dj console. I sent Behringer a email telling them my story about the driver not working with vista x64. He said that if enough complaints come in then it would get fixed faster. SO PLEASE GOTO THE SITE AND CONTACT THEM ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DJ MT from VA

I have sound issues too, but not popping. I experience consistance line noice. Almost like a ground loop, but more staticy than a hum. It's not a ground loop...

Hello brian_fligg,
Which output have you connected: is it the jack 1/4" output 1-2?
If you have connected the jack 1/4" output 1-2, you may saturate your speakers/amplifiers and should try the RCA output 1-2.
If you are connected to an analog mixer, check if attenuating the input level solves the issue (I saw this problem on a Stanton M201 mixer, and turning down the input gain button of Stanton M2001 solved the problem).

Hello dj3l,
Do you hear this noise also when the DJ Console Rmx is set in ASIO or only in WDM mode?
If it is not a noise in the computer power supplly, the sound you hear may be Windows switching off the power on the USB bus.
- Click on Windows start button, then click Settings, then click on Control Panel
- Click on System, on on Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
- In Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
- Double-click the first "USB root hub" you see, click the Power Management tab, and clear the "Allow this device to wake the computer check box," and then click OK
- Repeat the same operation on each "USB root hub" line.

Disable your wireless card and antiviris software. that worked for me.

I had almost the same problem. The VDJ update with the updated drivers from Hercules did the trick for me. Hope that helps. -Z-

jUST BOUGHT THE NEW HERCULES RMX WITH VIRTUAL DJ 5
i HAVE A VERY HIGH PITCHED NOISE COMING OUT.
Oops caps on sorry.
Sound is like a very fast whizzing usb noise. Just cant tolerate it.
Is there a way of sorting this or is it a common fault with the unit?
Soon as i disconnect the rmx the noise goes away.

Hello top.djKev,
Please describe completely your configuration and what you do in general.
1) Where do you hear the noise?
Is it in your speakers or in headphones connected directly to the Rmx?
2) If it is only in your speakers, can you test connecting the speakers / amplifier to the same power outlet as the computer?
If it stops the noise, then you have a ground loop, so you should check your power installation since at least one of the 2 devices (computer or speakers) is not connected to the ground.
3) If your computer is a laptop, can you test if unpluging the power supply and playing on the computer battery stops the noise?
