I have just discovered that a big RAM eater is the battery control on your laptop (Vista)...
to disable it:
1.start
2. open device manager( search device manager on bar)
3. expand batteries
4. select Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
5.right click it
6. hit 'disable'
what this device does is show your information on your bottom right about your battery(how % is left, etc)
by disabling it... I ran the DPC Latency Checker and NO RED BARS...
Thanks hope this works for you guys I can finally say I'm happy with both my Hercules RMX and my VirtualDJ after doing this.
