Sujet: HELP At Gig Left Deck Time Code (Solved)

Well it was working with the serato soundcard but now that I am back using my M Audio Connective the left deck is NOT responding to the time code except play, pitch bend. WHen I hit cue on the cdj 1000 the song keeps playing. it does not stop and go back to the beginning of the song like it should. The right deck works perfect! With the left deck I tried absolute relative and smart...nada works like its supposed to.

I have ran auto config on time code set up too and still does not fix the problem. I even switched time code sources (cd players) and the same thing occurs!

Please tell me I do NOT have to uninstall and reinstall vdj!

I can't tell you how frustrated I am right now!

Can you give us a screenshot of your timecode configuration?

also: Have you turned off master tempo on your CD player?
 
Can't give a screenshot now..maybe later. I'm on the road currently.

Yes mater tempo was off and everything is hooked correctly. It didn't matter which cdj 1000 I used it still happened with Deck 1 of VDJ.

When I get to where I'm going I will try my Vestax controller and see if it does the same thing.

Oh one more thing...I think it was when I hit the cue button on the cdj the song did actualy stop but Vdj deck 1 was acting more like pause mode..the song would stop and then pick right back up where it had stopped. If I loaded another file for Deck 1 it would start approximately 1:16 into the song.

This is really puzzling and I bet it had something to do with the SL1 box and then going back to my Connectiv. I'm just trying NOT to have to wipe the slate clean and reinstall Windows.

Have you uninstalled your Serato soundcard, or just disconnected?

And have you played around a bit with your performance settings?
 
Yes to both (uninstalled completely and played with the performance settings). After I discovered the problem I uninstalled Serato all together. In Device Manager the SL1 does not list.

I'm not sure what a screenshot will help with because it was working with my Connectiv before I installed the SL-1 and Serato because I used it a week ago. Last Tuesday and Thursday is when I used the SL-1 box with VDJ. The time code settings for the left deck is the same for the right deck. The right deck works perfectly.

I'm guessing that maybe a complete uninstall of VDJ, a cleaning of the Registry, and then a reinstall of VDJ will fix the problem?? As much as I hate to do that I suppose I can. If so what tools do I need to clean the registry entries?

I would love to try other things first before having to do uninstall/reinstall so if you have any more suggestions i'm all open.
 
Well, all i can think of now is:

- Uninstal VDJ and your soundcard
- Clean registry, it should take about 30min with http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/registry-defrag <--- this program.
- Reinstall your soundcard (make sure you have the latest drivers)
- Reinstall VDJ and try again?

If this all fails, i'd say contact e-service. :)

I am back to normal now. I did what you suggested and it worked...the only thing I could not install is the latest XP SP2 driver for my Connectiv. I kept getting a TBIA error and VDJ would not recognize the card. I am using the XP SP1 driver as I could not get the XP SP2 driver to install. Bottom line, again, it's all working like it used to be.
